Police Rescue Abduction Victims, Arrest Seven Suspects in Otukpo, Benue State

The Benue State Police Command has announced the arrest of seven suspects linked to an abduction incident in Otukpo, the administrative headquarters of Otukpo Local Government Area. According to a statement from the command, the operation also resulted in the rescue of some victims.

The arrests followed intelligence-led policing efforts coordinated by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in collaboration with local police divisions.

While specific details regarding the timing of the abduction and the identities of those rescued were not immediately disclosed, police confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and undergoing interrogation.

“We wish to reassure the good people of Benue State that the Command remains committed to combating kidnapping and all forms of violent crime,” the police statement read. “The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.”
